As 50% of every subscription sale will be donated off the top to The Hospitality Center’s Food Pantry and Soup Kitchen in the form of purchased goods, The Fire Island Fifty Fifty’s remaining 50% income, after taxes at a rate of 35%, will be put towards start up and operational expenses (approximately 11%), leaving less than 5% for the development and production of written and photographic content & design.
As such, and in order to make this a viable enterprise, The Fire Island 50/50 seeks supplemental corporate sponsorship in the form of 1:1 matching “grants” for each subscription donation to compensate writers, editors, photographers, and other personnel as needed.
In other words, corporations will challenge and reward The Fire Island 50/50 with matching monies raised by subscription sales dollar for dollar. The sponsorship challenge “grant” agreements will stipulate that in order to receive the matching funds, The Fire Island 50/50 must provide proof of such fundraising by an independent auditor to verify monies raised and donated.
